Returns Policy

We refer to order(s) in this returns policy as any good(s), item(s) or product(s) that are purchased from us that form an order

14 day returns

Please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order if you wish to make a return for standard stocked item(s)

Returning an order to our workshop

The customer is responsible for any costs associated with returning an order to our workshop in Hockley, Essex (unless the order is damaged or defective)

We will provide the full workshop address to send to in order to return an order; we don't publish the workshop address on our website because visits are by appointment only as it is a manufacturing environment. We recommend that you return an order to us using a traceable shipping service and or purchase shipping insurance so that there is proof of sending so returns can be tracked. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned order unless it is signed for by a member of our staff

Refund or exchange for good(s) damaged in transit

This is very rare because orders are very well packaged and we use our own transport or a reliable and trusted 3rd party signed for courier service that we have worked with for many years

If you suspect or can see the order\goods are damaged on arrival please carefully inspect all good(s). If it is not practical to inspect an order please sign for the order with the wording UNCHECKED or DAMAGED. If the order is damaged you can refuse to take delivery of the order or when signing sign for as DAMAGED and indicate what the damage is

We recommend taking photo(s) of the damage on arrival if possible because it will be time stamped and it may be useful later if the courier later requests photographic evidence

Time is of the essence because we must notify the courier as soon as possible if good(s) have been damaged in transit in order to start a claim for compensation. Normally it is acceptable to notify us within 24 hours if you have photographic evidence of the damage but the sooner we notify them the better chance we have of making a successful claim

While we are processing a compensation claim with the courier we will work with you to provide replacement good(s) or will process a refund

Inspecting an order when it is returned

When we receive a return we inspect the good(s) and packaging. An order must be returned to our workshop in re-sellable condition with all of the original packaging material and contents to be eligible for a full refund. We process a full refund when a order is in re-sellable condition and restock the good(s) so that they can be resold

There are certain situations where we may only offer a partial refund or reject a refund following an inspection. Some common situations include but are not limited to those below:

- Any good(s) that have been damaged, installed, deteriorated by excessive handling or mishandling or in generally poor condition and are not deemed in re-sellable condition because of a degradation to their condition caused by the customer
- Missing parts or packaging
- Incomplete returned orders

If we offer a partial refund or reject a refund it represents the cost to repair good(s) to return them to re-sellable condition

Exchanges

If you need to exchange good(s) please notify us as soon as possible after placing an order or within 14 days of receiving good(s). We will do our best to work with you to reach an amicable resolution

Bespoke good(s) returns

Good(s) are bespoke when we have made them to order to a specific customer specification, modified them from their normal state or have finished them in a bespoke colour finish. It depends on the type of bespoke goods and the extent to which they have been personalized or finished for each individual customer. Where possible we may be able to offer a full or partial refund if good(s) can be converted back to a standard stocked product

Delivery

Where do you offer delivery to?

We offer delivery options on checkout, we can currently only ship to locations on the UK mainland such as England & Wales, Scotland (may incur extra on checkout), Scottish Highlands (may incur extra on checkout) and Scottish Islands (may incur extra on checkout)

What if you don't offer delivery to my location?

We regret that we can currently only ship to the locations listed on the checkout and sadly can't offer delivery options elsewhere because of the variations in pricing and customs rules. Locations affected tend to be Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Scilly Islands, all EU and other International countries beyond the UK mainland. If you have the option to arrange onwards delivery if the weathervane can be delivered to an area we ship to that could be one potential solution. Please note that if an order is placed to an area we do not offer shipping to on checkout and a refund is required we will only to recover the amount minus the card processing fee from our provider which is 3% per transaction so we urge customers to contact us prior if the location isn't listed on the checkout

How is an order packaged?

Orders are sent out in the most appropriate sized box depending on the quantity of items, size and weight. The packaging material is mainly thick impact resistant foam or wrapping which give great protection in transit. The products are packaged well and very securely and it is very rare we suffer any breakages except if the order has been mishandled by the courier

When can I expect to receive the order?

We contact all customers when the order is ready to arrange a convenient day for delivery and the order should be delivered on the day between 9am - 5pm

What days can products be delivered?

The order can be delivered on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday using the 9am-5pm service as standard for all courier deliveries. If you require before lunchtime delivery or other express delivery options please contact us prior for pricing

Can I save on postage if I buy more than one product?

Yes our online shop will work out any overall saving and apply the discount

Can I pickup the product(s) from the Essex workshop?

Collections are by appointment only so that we can ensure that there will be someone available when you visit. Please contact us in advance so this can be arranged. We can also provide the workshop address and directions

Guidance for accepting and signing for the order on delivery day:

We would advise customers to check the order over before signing for it to ensure there are no signs of damage or anything else that you deem to be unacceptable. During transit the courier is responsible for any damage to the order but when you sign for the order the customer accepts that the product was delivered in an undamaged and acceptable condition

In the rare and unlikely event that an order is delivered in damaged or unacceptable condition we would advise that you either reject the item, sign for it as “Damaged in transit” and call us within 24 hours if possible. You can also sign for the order as "unchecked" if you were not given appropriate time to check the order over by the courier

FAQ

Q. Do I have to register to order products?

A. There is no registration required. Customers can simply add product(s) to the shopping cart and then order the products without having to register before ordering. During the process you can supply the delivery address then our website redirects you to the PayPal website where you can order the items securely using credit\debit card or PayPal

Q. How can I order the products?

A. Products can either be ordered online through the website using the online shop or you can contact us and we can send an invoice via email made out for the item(s) and offer various payment methods 

Q. Can I collect or pickup the products?

A. Of course but the workshop is a manufacturing environment so currently collections are by appointment only so that we can ensure that there will be someone available when you visit. Please contact us in advance so this can be arranged

Q. What payment methods do you accept?

A. We prefer credit\debit card from online shop orders as it is the quickest and most seamless method but we can also send you an email and invoice so that payment can be made by BACS, Cheque or another agreed payment method 

Q. Do you deliver?

A. Delivery is included to anywhere in the UK mainland. Generally the delivery is handled via APC Courier signed for service with tracking number and we contact each customer to arrange a convenient delivery day

Q. What is the lead time for delivery?

A. The lead time for delivery very much depends on availability and quantity ordered but generally speaking the lead time is around 3-5 days
