Medium lion weathervane measurements

This red lion weathervane is a medium weather vane design perfect for those that love lions or if the lion is of symbolic meaning. It is a typical size weathervane so it is ideal for posts, pagodas, garages, pergolas, gazebos, fence posts, sheds, summer houses. The weathervane lion is finished in red and the letters are finished in gold to stand out

The lion weather vane is made from steel and finished with an exterior quality black powder coat finish. The weathervane shows the wind direction by spinning in the wind

The lion weathervane is supplied with a standard gable projection bracket, it is also a perfect gift idea for family, friends and those that love lions or maybe the place or location relates to the red lion

Weathervane details:

- Made from steel

- 12mm strong steel weathervane rod

- Default bracket included is a heavy duty gable end bracket (other options also available)

- Powder coated in a tough durable matt black polyester paint. Clear mastic can also be used on any joints for example where the rod is inserted and secured into the bracket to seal and further weatherproof and prolong the life of the steel bracket and rod. Painting the weathervane in the future is also possible with a good quality exterior metal paint to freshen and restore the colour

Assembly

Instructions are also included inside the box — but may not be specific to this product

Carefully unpack the weathervane pack — inside you should find a weather vane feature profile of your choice, a stem with 2 loosely fitted nuts and bolts, 2 directional arms N S and E W

You will have separately been supplied with a fixing bracket — some fixing brackets come without screws as there are many fitting variations and it is best to obtain the right screws for the job

Weathervanes usually are fitted into a position that requires working at height — above all be careful and if in doubt call upon a capable person

Having decided on the fitting position then the weathervane will have to be assembled — this is a simple operation if carried out in the right order

1. Take the stem and remove the nut and bolts being careful not to misplace them — the pointed end is the top

2. Take the N S arm and offer this to the stem and secure to the bottom hole in the stem with a bolt and self locking nut — the nut will have to be held with a small adjustable spanner or 7mm ring spanner or socket —using a possi drive screwdriver tighten the assembly

3. Now offer the E W arm into the upper position and secure it with the remaining screw and nut — the arms should be at right angles to each other

4. Fit the assembled stem into the bracket socket or keep pointing the directional arm to the correct direction and secure tightly with locking bolt or screws. The application of a little grease around any threads offers some protection against the weather. If the assembly is to be fitted into a vertical socket a bead of silicone between the shaft and the socket will help to keep out the weather

5. Mount the feature spinner head onto the stem — at this point, a little grease smeared over the pivot point and shaft will do no harm

Note: The weathervane can be painted with good quality exterior paint to personalise the product. Additional painting in the future will help to prolong the life of the product — if in harsh weather conditions such as coastal areas then this should be considered more often
