Description
Adorning your roof with a touch of sophistication, the steel angler weathervane boasts an exquisite steel angler figure that transforms your rooftop into a captivating spectacle. This ornate weathervane not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of your home but also serves the practical purpose of indicating wind direction with its graceful rotations.
Simplicity meets elegance in the straightforward assembly of the steel angler weathervane. Bid farewell to the hassles of drilling holes or mounting brackets, this weathervane features a round base, affixed to your roof using traditional mortar. The time honored installation method ensures ease without compromising structural integrity. Alternatively, a resilient metal strap is provided for mechanical fixation, adjustable by unraveling and trimming to size. With a series of holes, this strap offers versatility in securing the weathervane to the roof structure using screws, nails, or other suitable fastening methods.
Once the metal strap is secured, conceal it with a mortar bed when installing the ridge to give a neat and secure install. The flexibility of the steel angler weathervane extends to its compatibility with various roof types, including turrets, towers, flat, round, and circular roofs. Beyond rooftops, this versatile ornament finds a place in garden structures, crafting a picturesque display of artistry.
Standing at a height of 34" (86cm), the weathervane's round ridge base, measuring 12" (30cm) in diameter and 10" (24cm) in height, ensures a seamless integration with your rooftop architecture. While the standard ridge tile fitting comes in a terracotta colour as standard, alternative colours and finishes are also available.
Transform your roof into a captivating focal point that blends practicality with stunning design. Elevate your outdoor aesthetic with the timeless allure of the steel angler weathervane, a testament to both form and function.
Brackets & Fixings
There are various methods for installing weathervane finials:
Traditional mortar bedding
Weathervane finials can be installed using the same process employed for ridge tiles, using standard mortar bedding. If the weathervane finial is tall, heavy, or requires enhanced stability, a supplementary mechanical fixing method can be utilised in conjunction with the mortar bed installation.
Mechanical fixing strap and mortar bedding
In this installation method, a galvanized metal strap is discreetly attached to the underside of the finial ridge base during manufacturing. This durable and flexible metal strap can be adjusted in length by cutting it down. Equipped with a series of holes, the strap can be screwed, nailed, or embedded in mortar to anchor it to a section of the roof structure. After securing the metal strap, installers can hide it from view by applying traditional mortar bed resulting in a seamless and tidy appearance.
Dry fixing
An alternative method for affixing finials to the roof is the dry fixing approach. This technique involves using a specific manufacturer's dry fixing system, typically incorporating brackets or alternative mechanical fasteners to attach ridge tiles and finials to the roof without the use of mortar. If you are considering a dry fix ridge system, please contact us to determine if this weathervane finial design can be adapted to be compatible with your chosen system.
