Description

Transform your rooftop ambiance with the dynamic fish weathervane, fitted on a specialised ridge tile fitting for a seamless and artistic integration into your home or garden. Forged from robust steel, this weathervane not only functions as a precise weather indicator but also introduces an enchanting touch of craftsmanship to your outdoor haven. What distinguishes this weathervane is its versatility, adapting to diverse roof pitches through a selection of ridge tile angles, allowing you to tailor it precisely to your specific roof type. Bid farewell to the conventional bracket approach and the associated concerns about compromising your roof's integrity.

Opting for a ridge tile fitting, rather than brackets, is a choice rooted in simplicity and assurance. Unlike traditional bracket installations, which often necessitate drilling and pose potential risks to the roof's waterproofing, the ridge tile fitting installation is a straightforward process, requiring only mortar for secure affixation to the roof structure. Enhancing stability and adaptability, the weathervane includes a concealed metal strap beneath the ridge tile fitting. This mechanical strap securely fastens with screws, nails, or integrates into the roof structure, providing multiple attachment options. Once in place, the strap discreetly vanishes during ridge base installation, cleverly concealed by mortar, ensuring both security and aesthetic appeal.

Adapting to an array of roof types, the fish weathervane stands as a versatile addition to your home or garden. Beyond its utilitarian role, it serves as a visually arresting ornamental feature, metamorphosing your roof into a captivating exhibition of design. Select your ideal ridge tile angle, install effortlessly, and let your rooftop evolve into a captivating conversation piece with this enthralling weathervane.

Brackets & Fixings

There are various methods for installing weathervane finials:

Traditional mortar bedding

Weathervane finials can be installed using the same process employed for ridge tiles, using standard mortar bedding. If the weathervane finial is tall, heavy, or requires enhanced stability, a supplementary mechanical fixing method can be utilised in conjunction with the mortar bed installation.

Mechanical fixing strap and mortar bedding

In this installation method, a galvanized metal strap is discreetly attached to the underside of the finial ridge base during manufacturing. This durable and flexible metal strap can be adjusted in length by cutting it down. Equipped with a series of holes, the strap can be screwed, nailed, or embedded in mortar to anchor it to a section of the roof structure. After securing the metal strap, installers can hide it from view by applying traditional mortar bed resulting in a seamless and tidy appearance.

Dry fixing

An alternative method for affixing finials to the roof is the dry fixing approach. This technique involves using a specific manufacturer's dry fixing system, typically incorporating brackets or alternative mechanical fasteners to attach ridge tiles and finials to the roof without the use of mortar. If you are considering a dry fix ridge system, please contact us to determine if this weathervane finial design can be adapted to be compatible with your chosen system.
